When I know I have been in a place where I have had IT one of my very first thoughts is always... "how can I make things stay exactly like this?!" IT is so compelling and life changing and comforting and empowering all at the same time that I want to always have IT.
Reality, for me anyway, is that IT is hard to keep my hands and heart on all the time. But here are some really simple, practical ways I've found that work for me. I'd love to hear from you all, what works for you?
I have to remember to constantly do the things that bring me close to God, ask Him to make Himself real to me, read my Bible, get with people in my life who will challenge me to be real with them, myself and God, make sure worship (like this last week's Worship Wednesday- if you missed it, check out the Cypress Meadows Blog to find an amazing resource for worship that we used for our teaching) are a regular part of my schedule, do anonymous random acts of kindness and be telling other people about the amazing God I serve. BUT... It's not just doing those things that makes IT work. Because, again, I can't make IT happen.
I have to be. I have to be with God. I have to be real. I have to make seeking more of God more important the doing things. (The story of Mary and Martha is such a good reminder for me.)
So, again, what works for you? How do you "keep IT?"
Oh... BTW, there are also some great personal worship resources up on the Cypress Meadows blog that you can use for some time with God worshipping Him. Check out posts beginning on Wednesday, August 19.
